I would like to play at Old Trafford in January – Man United set to Open talks for £55m RB Leipzig striker as Rasmus Hojlund alternative after shock transfer stance

In January, I would like to perform at Old Trafford. Man United will begin negotiations for a £55 million RB Leipzig striker as a backup for Rasmus Hojlund following his shocking transfer decision.
Transfer insider Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko, a long-term target for Manchester United, will “turn a few heads around Old Trafford” if he becomes available in January.

The Red Devils invested a significant amount of money in Rasmus Hojlund during the summer, spending £72 million to persuade Atalanta to approve the transfer. However, manager Erik ten Hag will have another chance to expand his offensive options come January 1.

With the confirmation of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.3 billion deal to purchase a 25% stake in the club over the Christmas break, Manchester United has ushered in a new era and will be looking for success in the second half of the season.

Sesko is considering switching to January.
According to 90min, Sesko has told Manchester United that he is open to joining the Premier League during the winter transfer window. However, because of his stance, Manchester United has been placed on red alert, and they now face competition from domestic rivals.

The Slovenian international, who is preparing for Euro 2024 and has only played 698 minutes this season, is reportedly interested in a loan with an obligation to buy. Leipzig would also consider a lucrative offer in the face of increased interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United.

However, there are worries that Manchester United and Sesko’s other supporters might have to wait until the summer to make their move because it seems unlikely that an agreement with his current employers can be reached in such a short amount of time.

The striker only connected with Leipzig in the summer, having spent the 2022–2023 season on loan at Red Bull Salzburg following the completion of a £55 million deal. Leipzig now hold a significant advantage over potential suitors who may choose to meet for negotiations.

This is due to the fact that Sesko still has more than four and a half years left on his contract, which pays him just under £58,000 per week. If Manchester United wants to sign Sesko, they will have to agree to the Bundesliga team’s demands.

The former FC Liefering marksman has long been admired by the Red Devils, who made an unsuccessful attempt to sabotage his transfer to Leipzig last season by having football director John Murtough meet with his representatives to discuss a possible move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United kept an eye on Sesko in 2019 while he was signed by Slovenian team Domzale, but they decided his £2.5 million price tag was too high and instead focused on other possibilities.

Reputable reporter Paul Brown recently told GIVEMESPORT that, despite the Red Devils not having made a firm move to sign him, the frontman is unlikely to approve a January switch to Premier League rivals Arsenal. This could be a boost for ten Hag.

Update on Dean Jones: Benjamin Sesko
Jones is aware that Manchester United has performed thorough background checks on Sesko—who Bundesliga.com dubbed a “wonderkid” earlier in 2023—over the years, so if he is placed on the market next month, they will be eager to come to an agreement with Leipzig.

However, the credible reporter is skeptical about whether a January move to Old Trafford is planned because of mounting worries that it would impede summer acquisition Hojlund’s efforts to regain his best form.

Smith stated to GIVEMESPORT:

“Because Sesko has been thoroughly investigated by the club, he is a somewhat different signing than the other names that have emerged out of nowhere.

“I can see that one being a little bit more tempting because there are people within the structure that still really like Sesko, and his availability would definitely turn a few heads around Old Trafford.”

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United goes there again, though, as it raises the question of what it means for Hojlund.

“My suspicion is that they won’t, but it could be intriguing considering how interested they were in him previously and how they might pursue him again in a year or two.”

“We have accepted the offer since he doesn’t want to stay anymore…But this is not how football should be run, Man United is a threat to our beautiful game and FIFA have to intervene now”: Club manager confirms Man United bid for their ‘best player’ has been accepted and the player has already agreed to join the Reds

We’ve accepted the offer because he’s no longer interested in staying. However, Man United poses a threat to our beautiful game, and FIFA must step in right away. This is not how football should be handled. Man United’s offer for their “best player” has been accepted, the club boss says, and the player has already committed to joining the Reds.

Manchester United’s defence was powerful, but they also lacked a good defensive midfielder, which is why they gave up 58 goals in the Premier League the previous season.

The Red Devils are looking to replace the Brazilian since Casemiro is long past his peak and had his worst season to date last season.

If media claims are to be believed, Man Utd is getting close to signing Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi as a player.

TDF claims that at first glance, Arsenal appeared to be in the greatest position to entice the Spanish international away from the La Liga team.

But with Man Utd now leading and the Old Trafford team putting in a strong push, Sociedad is finding it challenging to hang on to Zubimendi.

According to the media source, the 20-time English champions are prepared to trigger the 60 million euro release clause in order to entice the 25-year-old regista.

A five-year contract has also been offered by Manchester United, meaning Zubimendi is now “one step away” from joining the Red Devils this summer.

It is said that the events over the following few days will be significant in this transfer drama. In addition to Zubimendi, Manuel Ugarte, a playmaker from Uruguay, has also been connected to Manchester United.

However, Sofyan Amrabat, who played on loan the previous season, could also be brought back.

Who should United buy in the current transfer window to bolster the starting holding midfield position at Old Trafford, in your opinion?

This weekend, Arsenal will play an early test of their Premier League title prospects when they travel to Aston Villa.

In the opening match of the new season, the Gunners defeated Wolves 2-0, with goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka for the home team.

Jurrien Timber is back in action for Arsenal ahead of their trip to Villa Park on opening weekend, so they have a comparatively clean sheet of health.

The Dutch defender was substituted in the second half of Arsenal’s match against Wolves, after missing the team’s final two preseason games.

Takehiro Tomiyasu’s knee injury kept him out of Arsenal’s preseason tour of the United States, and it will take him several weeks to return. Additionally sidelined due to a hamstring injury sustained during Euro 2024 is Kieran Tierney.

Despite struggling with a hip issue, Fabio Vieira could be able to play this weekend.

Leandro Trossard could replace Gabriel Martinelli on the left, but Mikel Arteta may stick with the same starting lineup against Unai Emery’s team.

Summertime acquisition After staying on the bench last Saturday, Riccardo Calafiori is healthy and available to play if the Gunners manager decides to make changes.

Along with Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, David Raya, and Gabriel Magalhães, he regularly plays center-half with William Saliba. This week, Arsenal’s five stars were chosen in the PFA Team of the Season.

TERMS AGREED: Man United reach agreement to finally secure first midfield signing as the world-class star arrives for medical

After adding three defenders and one shooter so far this summer, Manchester United supporters are eager for the squad to sign a midfield player. The Red Devils should make one soon, but not in the way you might expect.

Dan Ashworth has already had an impact on several of Manchester United’s summer transfer acquisitions. It’s not out of the ordinary for the former sports director of Newcastle United to be thinking ahead while the team keeps making improvements for the here and now.

Chido Obi-Martin, the standout player for Arsenal, is a perfect example of the kind of player Manchester United wants to sign.

Similarly, The Athletic notes that Sekou Kone of Guidars FC in Mali will be joining the Red Devils. Kone, who plays for the team, was born in 2006.

Though he mostly plays defensive middle, the 18-year-old is regarded as a strong player with the ability to play as a #6. Many teams were interested in signing Kone this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, but Manchester United beat them to it.

Man Utd considers Kone, like they do Chido Obi-Martin, to be a long-term player. The Mali kid is headed to a totally different country, and the Red Devils know it might take some time for them to get used to it.

The 18-year-old need just turn to Yves Bissouma of Tottenham for guidance on the future. The 27-year-old travelled to France with LOSC Lille when he was 19 years old. After that, he played for Brighton until he turned 21 before joining Spurs.

Kone will like to pursue a career along these lines. As demonstrated by the recent success of Garnacho, Diallo, and Mainoo, Man United is a good place for young players to develop and break into the first squad. All the 18-year-old has to do is make sure he puts a lot of effort into his game.

With the addition of another excellent talent, the future appears bright for the Red Devils. Let’s hope Kone can mature as expected and make the first squad in the upcoming years.
