Tottenham tipped to sign ‘outstanding’ Aston Villa target despite transfer clause – ‘suits him better’

Many believe that Tottenham Hotspur will come out on top in the summer transfer market to acquire Jaden Philogene, a star player for Hull City. Aston Villa is also reportedly in the running.
The 22-year-old climbed the ladder at Aston Villa before leaving the Premier League club for a fee around £5 million during the summer transfer window of last year.
Among the Championship’s top performers this year, Philogene has been outstanding.
With eight goals and six assists in 22 Championship appearances, the attacker has been absolutely sensational for the play-off contenders this season.
Keeping Philogene this summer will be a challenge for Hull. Aston Villa reportedly has a £15 million release clause, which could lead to his return to them.
Besides Villa, Tottenham is reportedly also interested in signing Hull City standout Philogene. Ange Postecoglou’s camp is reportedly “leading the chase” to sign him, according to TEAMtalk.
Although Philogene will “want to move forward and try something else,” Alan Hutton, who played for both Villa and Tottenham, thinks Spurs are the more likely summer destination for the player.
What matters most, from a player’s perspective, is how he left Villa, Hutton told Villa News.
