It appears that Arteta has already considered the wing to be one place in need of improvement. Naturally, Bukayo Saka needs someone to relieve some of the pressure on his right side when tiredness sets in, but maybe the Gunners might also get an improvement on the left wing.

One reported player stands out above the rest as the summer transfer window draws to a close, and it’s also an intriguing one. It is understood by GIVEMESPORT sources that Arsenal is still seeking to sign Nico Williams. Although Barcelona has long been thought of as his top choice, given their difficulties in getting summer signing Dani Olmo registered to play, it appears that they won’t have the funds to close a deal this summer. The north London outfit might benefit from this.

The 22-year-old had a tremendous summer, winning Euro 2024 with Spain and adding a goal against England in the championship game to solidify his place among the game’s most intriguing young wingers. Martinelli’s good news is that Williams’ Arsenal career wouldn’t necessarily end if he did arrive.

Both are still young enough to play a major role in the squad in the years to come, covering Saka on the right and competing with Trossard for the starting spot on the left. Furthermore, the Spaniard is far from ideal, even with his impressive reputation.

Ultimately, he has not even participated in a European club competition, such as the Champions League. Furthermore, Martinelli has 41 goals and 24 assists in 176 games for Arsenal, so his 20 goals and 26 assists in 124 senior appearances for Bilbao aren’t all that much better.

That said, Martinelli will need to step it up a notch if Trossard continues to play well and Williams shows up. In order for the Gunners to win the Premier League, Arteta may need to be merciless and bench the 23-year-old because of his current form, which is starting to become an issue.

According to the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal has reportedly rekindled their interest in acquiring Napoli star Victor Osimhen late in this transfer season.

The Gunners transfer budget appears to have been constrained by FFP regulations, after making significant splashes during the previous two summer windows. It seems like they will have to sell their stars in order to make room for more troops.

The North London club chose to strengthen the engine room after allowing Emile Smith Rowe to leave, and they have an agreement with Real Sociedad to buy Mikel Merino.

Conversely, despite the widespread rumours that Arsenal is looking to add another prolific goal scorer, it’s possible that they were having trouble finding a replacement after acquiring Eddie Nketiah, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus.

Nketiah, who currently makes £120,000 a week, is close to signing a contract with Nottingham Forest, so Mikel Arteta’s team should be able to add a new striker before this transfer window closes.

Arsenal to Osimhen
Arsenal will benefit financially if Nketiah is eventually sold because he is an academy graduate and his departure will result in a clear profit for the team. Furthermore, they may be able to spend a lot of money to sign a new striker because they have previously done the same with Smith Rowe.

Over the past few weeks, Arsenal has been linked to numerous strikers, including Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, and Ivan Toney. Victor Osimhen is also apparently on their radar.
