Liverpool defeated Newcastle United 4-2 at Anfield to start 2024 on a high note and move three points clear atop the Premier League. But it was a victory that might have cost something.

After the match, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp acknowledged that midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was hurt. Klopp stated, “We wanted to take him off.” It was the plan, but regrettably he felt his hamstring in the previous scenario, so he was running a minute behind schedule.

Naturally, we are unaware of its full extent at this time. We must bide our time.

Liverpool really didn’t need it given Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara continue to be marginalized and given Due to his participation in the Asian Cup with Japan, which the midfielder captain leads, Wataru Endo will now miss a number of games. The legendary Mohamed Salah, who scored twice in the Reds’ victory over Newcastle before teaming up with Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations, has also bid farewell to the team.

Martin Dubravka, the goalkeeper for Newcastle, stops Alan Shearer from talking about Diogo Jota and the Liverpool penalty.
Nevertheless, the fit-again Alexis Mac Allister came off the bench to thread a stunning pass through to Diogo Jota, which has all but been forgotten given the commotion surrounding the subsequent penalty call. This was good news for Klopp regarding injuries.

Jota and Mac Allister may now start their FA Cup third-round match against Premier League title rivals Arsenal on Sunday, marking their first appearances since coming back from injuries. But Liverpool might lose seven more players in addition to Salah and Endo who have already passed away.

Dominik Szoboszlai
Szoboszlai held the back of his leg and hobbled off the Anfield field, making it obvious that he was uncomfortable. However, it is unclear how long the captain of Hungary will be sidelined.

In the upcoming days, the Reds’ medical staff at the AXA Training Centre will be investigating that further. However, given that Klopp stated it was a hamstring injury, it doesn’t seem likely that Szoboszlai will be able to play against Arsenal on Saturday.

Anticipated date of return: Unknown

Andy Robertson Robertson has been out since dislocating his shoulder while on Scotland’s international duty in October, but he is expected to return in good time this month. The left-back missed Scotland’s successful attempt to qualify for Euro 2024 and Liverpool’s ascent to the top of the Premier League due to surgery.

Recently, when speaking about Robertson’s condition, Klopp stated: “Robbo still needs more range in his shoulder.” It was undoubtedly a major surgery. He’s still not even close to being trained as a team member or anything.

He is obviously good at doing a lot of things without using his arm correctly, but he also demonstrates that we still have a long way to go. I believe that throughout the entire month of January, he must get closer and closer.

Anticipated date of return: January

Tsimikas Kostas
Following Tsimikas’s nasty injury during last month’s 1-1 Premier League draw at home against Arsenal, who had been filling in for Robertson, Liverpool are currently without an established left-back.

Tsimikas bumped into Klopp on the touchline after being challenged by Gunners winger Bukayo Saka, landing awkwardly on his shoulder. The Greece international was obviously in a lot of pain right away. And his manager confirmed the unfavorable news following the game. “He broke his collarbone at least,” stated Klopp. That is very detrimental to us.

At left-back right now, Joe Gomez, who is a well-known center-back or right-back, fills in. Nevertheless, Owen Beck, a young player on loan at Dundee, has been called up by the Reds.

Anticipated date of return: Unknown

Alcantara Thiago
After the Reds’ April victory over West Ham United, Thiago has not appeared for the team. The midfield player has been dealing with a hip issue that required surgery to hopefully resolve. Thiago’s most recent update was released on Friday.

Klopp stated, “I believe Thiago will participate in team training at some point in January.” “Thiago is also in a great place right now, but we need to be careful not to use him too soon. The hip issue in and around that region is also merely a long-term issue.

“There were undoubtedly days when he could have trained with ease, but our focus is on how he can be back then in the long run.”

Anticipated date of return: January

Joel Matip
Matip, who injured his anterior cruciate ligament, is recuperating from surgery. The 32-year-old, whose contract at Anfield is coming to an end, will probably miss the remainder of the campaign.

In the 70th minute of the thrilling 4-3 victory over Fulham, the center-back was left injured on the Anfield field following an off-the-ball incident. “Unfortunately, I anticipated that it was an ACL rupture from the very first second. That was how everything appeared. Very regrettable,” Klopp remarked.

Anticipated date of return: Unknown

Ben Doak Doak was recently forced off due to a knee injury sustained during an under-21 match against Chelsea. The young winger, who had enjoyed playing for the first team in the Carabao Cup and Europa League, was devastated by this.

It is unlikely that the Scot will be hurried back any time soon. Regarding Doak’s recent condition, Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders stated: “That’s not a good one.” He tore his meniscus on the side, requiring surgery.

“That one will require more time. He is young, physically fit, and optimistic, so it is likely that he will return stronger. However, we need him to return with the same intensity and passion that he did when he was playing the ball. We’ll wait for him even if he takes some time.

Anticipated date of return: Unknown

Bajcetic Stefan
After several injury setbacks, Bajcetic’s young Liverpool career has been extremely frustrating.

He had a terrific rookie season last year, but it ended too soon after he had a stress reaction in his adductor in March. After suffering a calf problem, Bajcetic made a comeback in September with appearances in the Carabao Cup and Europa League. However, that match against LASK Linz turned out to be his final one.

There is no confirmed date for the midfielder’s recovery. In a recent press conference, Klopp discussed Bajcetic, saying, “With Stefan, if you ask Stefan how he feels, he says ‘good.'” Could you practice? He could, indeed. We simply need to exercise common sense. That is the reality.

Deal Hijacked: Man United hijacked Liverpool transfer as star agrees personal terms to join

Giorgi Mamardashvili, the goalie for Valencia, has been linked to Manchester United.
The La Liga custodian, 23, has been linked to Liverpool this summer. However, Manchester United has long been a fan of the custodian and may try to sabotage Liverpool’s bid for him.

They are holding off on adding any more players until this summer in order to get rid of Jadon Sancho, according to a Mirror story. Manchester United intends to sell the 24-year-old England international in order to raise money for their own acquisitions. He has no future at Old Trafford.

If they can get rid of their players, they’ll try to move for the La Liga custodian. The 23-year-old is reportedly amenable to moving to Old Trafford, according to the article.

United is interested in Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The 23-year-old would likely challenge Andre Onana, Manchester United’s first-choice custodian, for the starting position if he signs with the team.

Which of the two English clubs is able to close the deal will be interesting to watch. Valencia apparently values the goalie at £34 million. The Spanish team will try to salvage as much as they can for him. In Spanish football, he is well regarded, and he has a promising future. In the long run, the Georgian international has the quality to make the investment worthwhile.

In the meanwhile, Liverpool hopes to recruit him to permanently replace club star Alisson Becker. At the end of this season, it will be intriguing to see if the Brazilian decides to move on. He has been linked to a move to Saudi Arabia.

Giorgi Mamardashvili and Liverpool are almost at an agreement to trade him for roughly £35 million. They are also working out a plan to loan him out.
HITC reports that Liverpool is getting closer to acquiring Giorgi Mamardashvili, a top custodian target, despite a change in their original plan. The midfielder will still sign a separate contract to join Bournemouth, but the Merseysiders will pay an all-inclusive sum of about £35 million.

Liverpool will concur over Giorgi Mamardashvili’s contract.
In recent weeks, Liverpool started to pursue a deal for the promising custodian Giorgi Mamardashvili. Despite the fact that Alisson Becker has a long enough contract at Anfield, the Reds are already considering his succession plan.

Strong speculations suggest Liverpool, who are eager to ensure they have a solid succession plan in place for the Brazilian, may take into consideration a sizable offer for the player from Saudi Arabia next summer. Mamardashvili became a target, and the Georgian was eager to go as soon as Liverpool expressed interest.

After two bids were turned down, Valencia requested a price of about £35 million, and Liverpool has come up with a plan to pay that amount. The La Liga star, who has excelled in Spain over the past two seasons, and the two teams are almost at an agreement. At the Euros, he made his debut on the main stage.

Although Liverpool had intended to sign him, they decided to let him go on loan to Bournemouth in order to give him Premier League experience. Although a major regulation prohibits English top-flight clubs from signing players and letting them go on loan to a rival league, the goalie had been amenable to the notion. This implies the Merseysiders need to change course and come up with a fresh approach to carrying out the plan.

Liverpool came up with Mamardashvili’s scheme.
Mamardashvili and Liverpool are getting close to a deal, but the goalkeeper’s loan transfer to Bournemouth might need to be redirected. In order to recruit the Georgian La Liga star on loan, they may have an agreement in place to sign the goalie in 2025 and bring the Cherries to the negotiating table to agree on a loan cost of £4 million.

They can accomplish their goal of signing the goalie and assisting him in gaining English experience while also staying inside Premier League transfer regulations with the use of such a scheme. Valencia would therefore have the players on their books under this formula, and any agreement with Liverpool would probably not come into effect until 2025.

Breaking News: Jurgen Klopp secures first job since Liverpool exit with shock return confirmed

As Arne Slot gets ready to face Ipswich Town, Liverpool has been getting ready for their first Premier League season without Jurgen Klopp in nine years.

For a unique farewell game for legendary Borussia Dortmund players Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski, former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will take the dugout once more. With Klopp out of the dugout for the first time in nine years when the Premier League season resumes, the 57-year-old is acclimating to life away from football management.

The German abruptly left the Reds in January and formally confirmed his departure in May after a 2-0 victory over Wolves. Following his farewell speech to the Anfield audience, Klopp sparked a chant for Arne Slot, who would go on to become his successor.

Although it is unclear when Klopp will return to a competitive position, he has already received honours on Merseyside. In July, Klopp was named the club’s official charity, the LFC Foundation,’s first-ever honorary ambassador.

It was announced on Friday that Klopp would take the dugout at Signal Iduna Park for the first time in over a decade in a promotional film released by Dortmund.

“Kollega, we have a farwell game, do you know that?” Piszczek gets going. The video conference breaks into three screens, with Klopp wearing black sunglasses. “We need a coach and I have an idea, we’ll call the retired coach,” the speaker says.

The former Liverpool manager said, “You finally have your farewell game.” “Oh my god. Are you really that foolish to want to train?”

When asked if he would manage both teams or just one, Klopp replied, “I couldn’t care less,” leaving the two legends of Dortmund in stitches.

“I do it like I used to, I start thinking about it five minutes beforehand,” he said. “Kloppo ist dabei,” which translates to “Kloppo is there,” was used as the video’s closing title to refer to the Der BVB stars’ display in Dortmund.

The former Reds manager has been connected to several positions for the most of the summer as openings arise, one of which being managing England after Gareth Southgate.

With the positions opening up all over the world, Klopp felt compelled to speak out against the linkages. At the end of July, he stated: “There are now no jobs available at all. No nation, no club.

“This part must have escaped the ears of a few. And if you said, “I’ll make an exception for you now,” that would be the largest loss of face in football history.

“I have some work to do. I’m too young to limit my activities to grandkids and padel tennis. Will coach be there once more? Right now, I would actually rule that out. In a few months, let’s see how it looks. Right now, nothing is getting through.

“Perhaps we should discuss it once more in a few months. I still want to use my contacts and skills to help people while working in football. Let’s investigate my options further.”

Liverpool will play Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. to begin their Premier League campaign. After a 22-year hiatus, the Tractor Boys are returning to the English Premier League, and unlike Klopp, who drew his first matchup with Tottenham Hotspur, Slot will be hoping to start winning right away.

During his initial pre-Premier League press conference, the Dutchman stated: “I felt that the pre-season games were significant because they helped the club get ready for the Premier League.

“Now that we are playing a promoted squad that has performed admirably under their manager, we need to prepare. We have watched their games from the previous season and the preseason, so it’s not more difficult to prepare for a team that spent 22 years in the Premier League.

“It’s true that a freshly promoted team is tremendously optimistic, but everyone has said that every Premier League game is hard, and we anticipate that tomorrow as well. We, along with the promoted team that has only had excellent outcomes, are looking forward to it.”
